Visiting this cafe was the primary reason for visiting Mousehole and it didn't disappoint. It's a family run cafe with the old lady handling all matters at the front - managing customer seating, helping with the menu, helping with and taking meal orders and bill payments, all with a smile. We were full when we visited but couldn't resist a slice of cake with coffee. Had the Dundee cake which came recommended and the tea cake both of which were amazing and tasted fresh and delicious. The tea cake was toasted perfectly and was perfect with butter and a pot of tea. The cafe decor is old school and is kept very clean. Depending on how busy it gets and what you offer, you might have to wait a bit to be seated and get your food as it's prepared fresh. Our visit to Mousehole for this was worth it.

Our first scones with jam and clotted cream. Amazing! Also, the roast beef sandwich was great. Gail was very patient, explaining everything to us. The prices seemed very reasonable.

What a find this lovely little cafe was! During a visit to Mousehole, found this amazing cafe whilst looking for somewhere for a cup of tea and something to eat. Ended up stopping for a late lunch with soup and fish and chips, all of which was made fresh on the premises and was delicious and very tasty. Would have had a slice of cake too, but too full. The service from the chatty and very friendly lady (Gail) running the cafe was excellent and she was more than happy to let us in with our two well-behaved dogs. Nothing was too much trouble. I would absolutely recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Mousehole. Well worth a visit. Thanks for making us very welcome, and for the excellent food which we thoroughly enjoyed :o)

The best place in Mousehole! The staff are very friendly and the food was outstanding! We went for something traditional, scones with Cornish cream and fish and chips. The scones and the cod were so fresh. High quality and really recommended!

This was by far one of the best experiences of our trip to England. Gail and Anton have perfected the “mom and pop” cafe. He is the chef and she is the front of the business. While we were there she taught us how to properly eat scones the Cornish way, “jam before cream!” and we had the best homemade fish pie. If you’re traveling around the southwest, don’t miss this amazing shop, we can’t recommend it highly enough.

What a fantastic cafe with a superb host who I assume is the owner named Gail. We booked last minute & managed to get a table, the lady who we later realised was Gail asked in advance what we were hoping to eat (given we was arriving almost at the end of the day) to ensure they had enough scones etc. to cater enough Cornish cream tea to avoid disappointment when we arrived, this attention to detail was massively appreciated. From the get go of arriving at the door i was greeted by my name we were seated at our table and boom! the homemade scones by the cafe’s chef (Gail’s husband) with the clotted cream & jam were absolutely delicious! Great value for money along with even greater service & ambiance makes this a cafe we’ll be sure to return to in the future & recommend to friends alike when they visit the area.

Amazing cafe, with an amazing host. I real little jem on all accounts, beautiful cornish cream tea with homemade scones that are light and moorish. A varied menu with plenty to choose from. Lovely little themed cafe well worth a visit. Level entrance for easy accessibility and plenty of space outside for a mobility scooter or 2.
